Code of Ethics Training FAQs Updated
NAR's frequently asked questions on the Code of Ethics training requirement have been updated for the 7th training cycle (beginning with the year 2022). The FAQs are grouped into categories and provide guidance to administrators and members on the requirement itself, which training courses count, as well as, recordkeeping and enforcement of the requirement.
REALTOR® Laura Copersino Honored with NYSAR Community Service Award
Congratulations to Laura Copersino, LIBOR Past President, who was recently honored with the 2021 NYSAR Community Service Award at the NYSAR Mid-Winter Business Meetings in Albany. Laura was chosen for her remarkable story of how she turned a personal tragedy into a mission to help others change their lives for the better, as the founder of The Daniel Copersino Foundation. Housing on Long Island Just Became More Inclusive #GoodbyeCovenants
Committed to the mission of Fair Housing for ALL, in 2020 and 2021, Long Island Board of REALTORS® worked with both the Nassau and Suffolk County legislatures, respectively, to create a bill that allows homeowners to remove racially and religiously restrictive covenants from their property deeds. To celebrate this momentous change, LIBOR has launched a social media public awareness campaign on this action to inform homeowners of their new potential covenant removal option and reaffirm to all that racially and religious restrictive language is illegal and unconstitutional. 2022 Fair Housing Course for Appraisers
Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers is offering a 7-hour Fair Housing course for appraisers on March 14 and 16, 2022.  This 7-hour course will satisfy the requirements for ALL real estate appraisers renewing their licenses on or after 1/1/2022. LIBOR Appraisal members receive a discount to attend. For more information and how to register, click HERE.

Governor Hochul Signs Redistricting Legislation; GOP Files Lawsuit
Governor Kathy Hochul signed a package of legislative redistricting bills late Thursday after being passed by the Legislature that define new congressional and state Senate and Assembly district maps. Republicans filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court challenging the redistricting maps on Thursday evening in Steuben County.
