Join us next Monday at 5:30 pm Central for a new tropical bird painting to add to your collection. | |
There will not be a Live or Premiere YouTube show today.
Ginger and Jon are recuperating from their honeymoon and working diligently on the exciting plans they have for YouTube and the Academy in 2023.
Ginger was very prolific in her painting on the cruise and has literally dozens of her masterpieces to share with us. However, the process of sorting, filming, editing, and scheduling is a monumental task and is taking a bit of time.

JON: Flying back to Houston, Texas, from Sydney, Australia, was a long and tiring journey, but it was well worth it. The initial 15-hour flight to Los Angeles was quite comfortable, thanks to the spacious seats and the in-flight entertainment system. The airline offered various movies, TV shows, and music to choose from, which helped pass the time. Additionally, the flight attendants were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all passengers were well taken care of.
GINGER: were we on the same flight? My right leg and lower back were killing me. I had to climb over those so-called comfortable seats, like a disabled acrobat, to get to the aisle. Odd food too! I am just grateful for the cookie, as I gave Jon the rest of my meal.
JON: The view from the window was breathtaking as we flew over the Pacific Ocean. The clear blue skies and the endless expanse of water below made for a serene and peaceful experience. The clouds looked like giant cotton balls, as if someone had taken a handful of fluffy white material and thrown it into the sky. It was a magical sight and one that we will never forget.
GINGER: WHAT CLOUDS? Jon had the window seat, with his face and camera pressed against the pane blocking my view. All the window did for me was put a glare on my TV screen.
JON: After landing in Los Angeles, we had a 2-hour layover before boarding our connecting flight to Houston. The layover was just enough time to grab a quick bite and stretch our legs before returning to the plane. The final leg of the journey was just as comfortable as the first, and before we knew it, we were touching down in Houston. Overall, it was a long but enjoyable journey, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
GINGER: Again, there was not a bit to eat since the crummy meal on the plane from Australia. We landed at the international airport terminal and had to get to the other side of the airport in less than 2 hours. We had to find our bags, see where to drop them off in a hidden location of the LAX airport, then go through customs, followed by the TSA check line, where my body kept setting off the scanner. I was like the passenger I just hate who had a phone in their pocket and stopped the entire line behind them because they don't remember putting it there. Only it was not just my phone but apparently my leg brace just under my right knee. You know the leg that was giving me fits on the 15 hr never-ending flight back home from Sidney. Well, the brace has more than velcro and kept setting off their scanner thingy, but I didn't remember I had it on. Oh, and they wanted a lady TSA agent to do a body pat, but she was on a break, and no one could find her.
Meanwhile, the time is ticking away, and our plane going back to Houston will leave soon, and I keep setting off these stupid alarms. Oh, did I mention part of this airport safari required us to go outside in the rain for a block before going back inside? We did make it to the terminal on time, thanks to a lovely gal who had picked me up in a wheelchair from the gate from Sidney, and even with her pushing me and getting in the physically challenged line, which is supposed to be faster, we barely made it. Jon's idea of some lovely snacks at the gate was to find us a bottle of water and cheese crackers; I am just saying we had a totally different ride home, though we were on the same plane. Thanks for letting me vent. Art Hugs, and glad to be back.
JON: Well, as you can see, it's all about the state of mind...and the window seat!
