Big Blue Ball
April is "Live on Earth" month at JAM. To honor our home, soak in ocean and wintry views from the International Space Station, above. For rivers of light and the aurora borealis, check out these nighttime views. These meditative videos each run nearly an hour—what could be better to watch?

The face of Lincoln
Vermont photographer Christopher Dant gives a master class on how "new" camera technology captured Lincoln from 1846 to 1865. "There was something beautiful and grandly solemn in the expression of his placid face. There lurked the sweetness and gentleness of childhood and a stately grandeur of a God-like intellect," wrote his widow's seamstress. (From GNAT TV.)

J.S. Bach meets Metallica
Upper Valley Music Center teachers treated a lucky audience at the Norwich Congregational Church to works by Telemann and Taktakishvili to Chet Atkins and Andrew Lloyd Webber. And, yes, the sombre metal song Nothing Else Matters rendered on cello and piano really did follow Bach's Prelude and Fugue No. 13 in F Sharp Major. Party on!
