IRS Begins 2022 Tax Season
The Internal Revenue Service kicked off the 2022 tax filing season with an urgent reminder to taxpayers to take extra precautions this year to file an accurate tax return electronically to help speed refunds.

The start of this year's tax season – which takes place earlier than last year's February 12 opening – signals the IRS is now accepting and processing 2021 tax returns. More than 160 million individual tax returns for the 2021 tax year are expected to be filed, with most before the April 18 tax deadline.

Most taxpayers face an April 18 deadline this year due to the 'Emancipation Day' holiday in Washington, DC falling on April 15.

IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig noted that taxpayers need to take special care this year due to several critical tax law changes that took place in 2021 and ongoing challenges related to the pandemic.

From Resolutions to Well Being: Exploring Various Ways of Honoring Our Grief in the New Year
There’s nothing like a new year to highlight the passage of time. At times this highlighting can leave a stark effect, underscoring our inertia or backlighting expectations. Coupled with grief, the new year can bring about a whole new set of expectations that may or may not be in accordance with where we are personally at in our grief journey.

“From Resolutions to Well Being” is a workshop focused on addressing the New Year’s marker of time and how we can manage our grief. Whether transitioning into 2022 has you feeling ambivalent, digging in your heels, or anticipating a fresh start, this workshop is a space to acknowledge your grief, identify what the new year means to you, and craft an individual plan that promotes your wellbeing.

This workshop will focus on:
• Creating a space that honors your grief
• Reframing resolutions to more manageable moments that contribute to well being
• Providing tools for self-compassion and self-care rather than self-improvement
