-- Winter Share Week 4 --

Good afternoon Trevor-

Today's snow certainly makes it feel like winter and ushers in the holiday spirit. So today, I had to choose between getting this newsletter out on time or making eggnog. I chose eggnog.

This is the first week we are offering eggnog for the season. Supply is limited, so please preorder.

We can only make as much eggnog as we can get cream. Heavy whipping cream is our limiting factor. So we'll make two batches each week - approx 160 jars. Next week, is an FFM off week. We will deliver next week's eggnog to OCP.

Each jar of eggnog starts with 6 farm fresh eggs. We blend the eggs with organic cane sugar, then temper that into the cream and milk. This custard thickens up then we must chill it quickly to stop the cooking process. This naturally thick eggnog contains no gums or synthetic stabilizers. If the spices settle to the bottom, please just shake up the jar.

Also, a small reminder about the delivery schedule. This week is a on "ON Week" and next week is an off week. After that, we have deliveries the week of Dec 11 and Dec 25.

Thanks

Trevor

*You might have notice that last week we had parsnips listed, but ended up substituting turnips. Our driver showed up to pickup the parsnips from one grower. When he got there, all 800, 2# bags were not available. Many of our farmers are low order Amish and don't use phones. They also don't realize how big of a deal it is when we list what's in the bag.

Fortunately, the next stop had a "surprise" order of turnips. An order I had put in via snail mail in early October. I didn't put the order in my spreadsheet and forgot about it. So we lucked out and had something to put in the bag.

This week, a different grower had time to dig and fill the parsnip order and we do have them in house.
