Hello Fellow Travelers,

I have just returned from Panama, and what an awesome country for birding. This was my 3rd visit to Panama, and my first visit to the Darien. This was a short trip, and during 7-days of birding we saw 273 different species of birds, and numerous mammals. Here is the list of birds I have seen in Panama: Bird List We saw 26 different species of raptors and falcons, and 7 different species of Puffbirds, in 7-days! Check out the bird list. We even saw Panamanian Night Monkeys. It was amazing.

I have had a lot of interest in my Panama tours and I am adding a trip for this March 28 - April 3, 2022 for $3,450 per person. If you are concerned about travel, let me tell you it is not a problem. In December, I spent 3-weeks in Colombia, and in late December and early January, I spent 2-weeks in Panama. Everywhere we went in both countries, everyone was wearing a mask. It was rare to see someone with out a mask. Everyone I talked to had received at least two vaccine shots and many people had received the booster as well. To board the plane, you have to show your vaccine card, and on the return trip you have to show a negative Covid test, (The clinic will come to the hotel for a private test). I felt very safe on the plane and also when traveling in both Colombia and Panama. When I travel in the Unites States, most people are not wearing masks and many are not vaccinated.

Since the Pandemic I have acquired commercial permits and permission to provide tours at many national parks, state parks, national wildlife refuges, and national forests. I have established tours in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Texas, Washington State. Let me know where you need a tour, and your specific interests. I am happy to provide a private birding, history, and/or culture tour for you.

This winter and spring (through April), I will be in Colorado providing tours at both Rocky Mountain National Park and the Great Sand Dunes National Park for hiking, birding, backpacking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
