Remembering The Oakland Firestorm, 30 Years Later
This month marks the 30th anniversary of the Oakland-Berkeley Firestorm of 1991. On Saturday, our community came together to remember those 25 people who lost their lives to this devastating fire, and all of us who were touched in some way by this tragedy. 30 years later, fire safety has never been more important, and we thank the Oakland Fire Department for continuing to work to keep us safe, informed, and resilient.

Emergency Rental Assistance Available For Oaklanders

If you are an Oakland resident in need of help paying rent, or a property owner whose tenants have not applied for rental assistance, you are encouraged to apply. Tenants and property owners in need of financial assistance for past due rent may be eligible.
