Rancho and Lawrence Boys and Girls Club Team Up for Basketball Clinic
Students from Lawrence Elementary School's Boys and Girls Club had a special visit from the Rancho Alamitos girls basketball team, who put on a clinic to teach the kids some basketball drills and techniques. Interactions like this have a great impact on the younger students, build a strong community bond, and can foster a sense of school spirit before these kids are even in high school. Thank you to the Vaqueros for this wonderful opportunity and good luck this upcoming season! #GGUSDpride
Excelsior Students Enjoy New Expanded Learning Programs
Excelsior Elementary School is proud to offer new Expanded Learning Opportunities for students. Students enjoy before school and after school programs to work on reading, math, and English Language skills and to develop their collaboration, problem solving, goal setting, and coping skills. This lesson used pumpkins and taught students social emotional learning skills along with gardening and earth science content.

Gilbert Creates Connection to Future Grizzlies
Gilbert Elementary School is equipping the next generation of Grizzlies with skills that are beneficial to academic success before they're even on campus. Gilbert, in partnership with the Chapman Branch of the Garden Grove Library, hosted a Parent Education night to give parents an insight on how to support their toddlers (younger Gilbert sibling(s)) at home to develop early skills so they are ready for transitional kindergarten or kindergarten. #ggusdpride
Garden Grove High Teacher Contributes to NASA Mission
Kudos to Garden Grove High School Earth Science Teacher Kevin Voeller for his data research which was used to plan a NASA mission. The Lucy Mission is visiting asteroids that have been trapped in the orbit of Jupiter to get a better look at the building blocks of all planets.
District Volleyball Teams Shined This Season
The Girls Volleyball season for GGUSD teams came to a close with Rancho Alamitos' season coming to an end with a loss to undefeated Santa Clarita Christian (30-0). It was still an awesome season for the Vaqs, as well as Garden Grove, La Quinta, and Bolsa Grande who also made the postseason.

For Bolsa, it was a very great season as the Matadors won their first Garden Grove League championship since 2013! They were led by coach Rebecca Wagner and stand-out players: Allyson Ninh, Fernanda Cueva, and Tinka Le.
Enders Students Flex their Green Thumbs
Enders Elementary School students are planting a new garden in the school's sixth grade wing. This new garden will help bring science lessons to life and is a fun way for students to engage in what they are learning! #GGUSDPride
