SCHOOL CLOSED ON MONDAY
Please be aware that the school will be closed this coming Monday, January 17 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We encourage our CSArts-SGV community to use this long weekend to reflect on the significant contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his message of equality, activism, and unity, which is still relevant today. We look forward to seeing you back in class on Tuesday, January 18.
UPDATES REGARDING COVID-19
It was wonderful to welcome our students back onto campus this week! Due to last week’s rapid COVID-19 test distribution, positive cases were able to be identified prior to students and staff returning to campus. While our COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated to reflect active cases, the majority of these cases have not been present on campus since in-person instruction resumed on Monday, January 10

The following are a few updates and reminders to keep our school community safe and informed:

  • When a positive case that has been present on the CSArts-SGV campus is reported, a community notification will be sent out and anyone who has a low risk or close contact exposure to that individual will be notified directly by the school.
  • Weekly COVID-19 testing will continue to be available to all faculty, staff, students, and families as an extra health and safety resource every Monday at 1:30 p.m., as well as every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. for the duration of the month of January. Please note that, due to the holiday, there will be no testing on Monday, January 17. Testing will instead take place on Tuesday, January 18. The drive-through clinic is located in the parking lot off Highland Avenue. Walk-ups are welcome. Please visit our COVID-19 Dashboard for information on how to register.
  • Please be reminded that students and staff are required to wear face coverings at all times while indoors, as well as outdoors whenever physical distancing is not feasible, except while eating or drinking. The Northview Park field (located next to the 100 wing) will now be open at lunchtime. We encourage students to utilize this extra space in order to further socially distance during lunch.

We are continuing to receive frequent updates from various state and local agencies and will make sure to update our community as information evolves. All of CSArts-SGV’s most recent COVID-19 information, including policies, procedures, and important health and safety resources, can be found on our COVID-19 Dashboard. On this page, you can also access the COVID-19 Reporting Form in order to report a positive test, symptoms, or exposure.
MENTAL HEALTH REFERRAL SERVICES
In support of our ongoing commitment to the overall well-being of our students, CSArts-SGV has partnered with Care Solace to provide an additional layer of care for our community. Care Solace helps individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers. Their Care Companions are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and year-round to quickly connect you to carefully verified providers in your community.

Students, staff, and families may access Care Solace services in two ways:

  • Call 888.515.0595 at any time. A dedicated Care Companion will help you every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure it is a good fit. Support is available in 200+ languages.
  • Visit www.caresolace.com/csa for an anonymous search. Answer a few questions to get matched with an extensive list of care providers.

Care Solace is available for use by our CSArts-SGV community at no cost. They will connect you with providers accepting all medical insurances including Medicaid and Medicare, as well as sliding scale options for those without insurance. All information entered on the Care Solace tool is completely confidential and securely stored.

This is a complimentary and optional resource. Care Solace is not an emergency response service or direct mental health services provider. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1.800.273.8255 or call 911.
CONSERVATORY GROUP PHOTO SCHEDULE
Don’t forget that conservatory group photos to commemorate the 2021-2022 school year are scheduled to be taken this coming Tuesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 20 on the front steps of the Performing Arts Center (PAC). If students are absent, their name will be listed in the yearbook as ‘Not Pictured’ under the conservatory photo - no makeup photos will be taken. Please check the schedule for the dates and times each conservatory is scheduled to take a photo.
