Highlights from AFSI's Activities in 2022

With the new year's arrival, we take a moment to reflect on an eventful 2022. Below are highlights from the Agriculture & Food Systems Institute's activities over the past twelve months–by no means a comprehensive accounting. Our team is proud of what we accomplished, having organized a slew of virtual and in-person events when travel logistics remained in flux, while also expanding the resources we freely offer to the public. We look forward to furthering our programs in 2023.

Webinar Series on Microbial Biotechnology for Novel Foods

Our webinar on microbial biotechnology addressing the challenges in India was organized on January 11, 2022, attracting more than 1,700 registrants. Our follow-on activity on September 13-15, 2022 was targeted at audiences in Southeast Asia, with talks addressing scientific and regulatory issues by speakers from Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand. We will organize a related webinar series targeted at audiences in South America in 2023, which will expand to address not only novel foods, but also the potential of microbial biotechnology in plant biologics.
