Leadership Transition Information Meeting

Families who are currently serving or

interested in serving in a leadership position with GV Crew:

Please attend a transition meeting on

Thursday, January 5 at 7:00pm

at

Locust Lane Craft Brewery

(50 Three Tun Road, Suite 4, Malvern)

As you probably know by now: Spring will be different as John and I transition our leadership and step back. This team can be led by committee, we have volunteers for treasurer, hospitality, and fundraising so we just need a person, couple, or group to volunteer to oversee some of the fine details. Please reach out to John or me if you would like to help out in that capacity. We'd like to use the time between seasons to meet with folks in leadership roles to pass on what we know and do.

Please email or text an RSVP ASAP so we know who is attending.

If you cannot attend but would like to be more involved,

just reach out and let us know:

Blue Jean Ball Committee Work Session

Come one, come all!

SAVE THE DATE

January 16 (MLK)

to help assemble baskets and prep for the Blue Jean Ball

Location and exact time TBD and will be texted out on the REMIND

Blue Jean Ball

We need all families to start talking up the event! Ticket sales are OPEN and having big attendance is a must. Please make sure it's on your calendar and attend. Big time bonus if you can bring some family, friends, or neighbors. We have a fun band, great food and drinks and of course some great items for the silent auction. It will be a super fun evening out!

Also, keep scrolling for instructions on donating for the event. We need all families (spring and fall) to help so check the list and see what you can do.

Special Announcement
As a Great Valley Community Organization sport, we get support from GVCO; however, many of the crew specific tasks are overseen by crew families.

We (John and Robin Brewer) have been taking the lead on those tasks for a few years and find ourselves without a rower registering this season. Veronica has graduated and is off to row with La Salle University and Buddy has decided to sit out this season.

We would like to start mentoring the next family/families to help run the crew program. Our plan is to run the program this Fall while mentoring new folks and to also help out in the Spring as needed. Fall 2023 will be the first season where we need new leadership to takeover completely, though we will always be available to answer questions.

PLEASE, especially if your rower is going to be a 9th, 10th, or 11th grader, consider volunteering to keep this crew growing and moving forward. It is our plan to pass down all of our expertise/knowledge as well as documents, email accounts, etc...to make the transition as smooth as possible.

If you would like to learn more about how you can become more involved, please reach out to John or I at your earliest convenience.
