A Recovery Community That Is STRONG!
This newsletter will be released once a month to recap recovery news and resources. You will also experience a word from Commissioner Doreen Williams, personal recovery stories and information on how to support the Rockdale County Stepping Up Initiative in our ongoing efforts to reduce the number of people in the criminal justice system with mental health and substance use challenges.
COMMISSIONER'S CORNER
In this month's Commissioner's Corner we are sharing a video from World Mental Health Day which was October 10, 2022. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. As we all know Commissioner Dr. Doreen Williams is a strong advocate for Mental Health!

CHAMPION OF CHANGE
Andrew Momon
We are proud to announce this months Champion of Change is Andrew Momon.
He presently is a Chaplain at the Rockdale County Jail and also fills the roles of Case Manager as well as RRSAT class facilitator. But so much more than that, he is not only a sterling representation of the Kingdom of God, but he is the conduit through which so many men have received the messages and the skills to approach re-entry and the values that are necessary to live lives of whole health and wellness in the communities of their choice.
He also tirelessly continues to fill requests and connect people with the resources to move forward. Andrew Momon has been an invaluable resource for the Stepping Up team as
well as our other partners who have come to understand that for us to be most effective we must have a cross systems approach. We thank him and his wife for their support in the community with their non-profit, 'Empowered Families' where they teach financial literacy and strengthening Family Dynamics.
Keep up the good work and thanks again for everything you do from the Rockdale Community!
