Thank you to all of our extraordinary staff members, students, and parents/guardians who made last week's Homecoming such a success, particularly the Homecoming dance with an attendance of 1200 students! Girls Tennis Wins Sectional Championship; Six Players Move on to State Competition
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Tennis team who won the Sectional Championship! The following players will be moving on to State Competition: Singles: Liza Gleyzer (Fr.) and Valentina Bellagamba (So.) Doubles: Allison Lee (Sr.) and Bella Schoen (Jr.); Abbey Lee (Fr.) and Natalie Schoen (Jr.). Congratulations and best of luck at State to these amazing athletes!
Boys and Girls Cross Country Earn Awards at CSL Conference Championships
Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams at the CSL Championships this past weekend.

The Boys Varsity, JV and Sophomore teams each won CSL North Championship. Cole Bernstein earned the individual CSL North Varsity Champion title. Dylan Cohen earned the Sophomore Champion title for the entire CSL. The Girls Varsity team took second place for the CSL North Conference.

Nominees for the 2021 National Student Production Awards
The Foundation of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is pleased to announce the Nominees for the 2021 National Student Production Awards.

Deerfield Film & TV Production has received two nominations this year!

"Magicians in the Shutdown”

Jack Gordon, Senior, Deerfield Film & TV student and DHS-TV Co-producer directed and produced "Magicians in the Shutdown" which has been nominated in the arts and entertainment category         
 
Non-Fiction – Short Form
“Drive-In Movie Theatre”

Simon Blaustein, Class of '21 and former Executive Producer of DHS-TV directed and produced "Drive-In movie theatre" which has been nominated in the non-fiction category. Simon is currently studying film and TV production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Recipients of the National Student Production Awards will be announced in late November by NATAS. Linked below is the press release which includes the entire list of nominees.

Two DHS Students Earn Perfect Scores on the AP Computer Science Principles Exam
We are proud to share that Jeremy Lamm and Cooper Nervick, juniors, not only received a top score of 5 on the AP Computer Science Principles Exam last spring but were also one of only 335 students (amounting to just 0.29% of 2021 AP Computer Science Principles Exam takers) from around the world to earn every point possible on this challenging, college-level examination. Even more impressive, neither student had any prior CS experience. Congratulations to Jeremy and Cooper on this amazing accomplishment!

SHIELD testing hours have changed to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The testing center location remains J108.
