Ways to Support Us

Hello Supporters & Friends:

‘Tis the season…Yes, the holiday bustle is full on and, of course, we’re in countdown to the final days of 2023.‘Tis the season, also, for reflecting on all that we’re thankful for. At DFSPB, our gratitude is overflowing for all of you who’ve so generously helped us deliver on our promise to the clients (close to 700 this year) that we serve.

Fortunately, we have huge-hearted grantors who’ve dug deep for us this year. THANK YOU (that’s in shout format) to some of our more recent supporters: Quantum Foundation, Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, and the Bertil & Joyce Kjellgren Family Foundation.

The W Bradford Ingalls Foundation also has our sincere appreciation because it has increased its pledge to us and is renewing its role as presenting sponsor of our Style for Hope Fundraising Luncheon. It’s not too soon to purchase your tickets for this March 15, 2024, event at Kravis Center when Tommy Hilfiger and Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger will be called to the stage to accept our Style Icon award and will wow guests as they’re interviewed about their fashionista lives.

Wowing us right now are Luncheon Committee members Lisa Selby and Angie Guyott. The duo, who’ve volunteered the past three years, have engineered for a dozen distinctive Worth Avenue retailers to commit a percentage of sales on Thursday, November 30, to DFSPB. In short, they’ve created: “Holiday Shopping on Worth Avenue to Benefit Dress for Success.” The concept is that the funds raised by this initiative will help underwrite the Style for Hope Luncheon. PLUS, many of the participating retailers will be donating special items for the Silent Auction that precedes the luncheon. We applaud the level of dedication of these volunteers and are grateful for the generosity that these Palm Beach businesses are showing us.

We’re putting a unique spin on an end-of-year Pop-Up Sale. One day only – Saturday, December 9 – exclusively selling Couture & Designer clothing, handbags and shoes BOGO for the first time ever! Our COI members, along with repeat VIP customers and volunteers, will have first dibs to shop from 9 a.m. until 12 noon; with the public invited to shop following, until 5 p.m. It’s in our Palm Springs Boutique where we’re bursting at the seams with inventory, thanks to a generous community.

The six-week fall term of Road to Success saw 19 women graduate with 50% finding employment! We held the “graduation” for them and their amazing mentors on November 15th, at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in West Palm Beach. And, thanks to a valuable partnership we’ve forged with this prestigious restaurant, we will be hosting our December 12th volunteer & staff holiday party there, as well. BTW…the new winter term of RTS is slated for January.

For our clients in Belle Glade, we’re collecting unwrapped toys that we can distribute in this season of giving. Please drop these off at our office by December 11th or bring with you to the December 12th holiday party.

Happy Holidays,

Professional Women's Group (PWG) Attendees

Learned How to Self Brand on Social Media

In an empowering and informative session on November 11th, the Dress for Success Professional Women’s Group (PWG) delved into the realm of Self-Branding through Social Media. The session, led by Amy Baj, a distinguished external communications leader, storyteller, and certified media trainer, provided our members with valuable insights into leveraging social media for personal and professional growth. Amy, who serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications, and Public Relations at NTT DATA, guided our PWG through an exploration of various social media channels, unraveling the unique opportunities each platform presents for self-branding, effective communication, and strategic networking.

Amy's expertise illuminated the potential of social media as a powerful tool for building and enhancing personal brands, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and purposeful engagement. The interactive session allowed members to ask questions, share experiences, and gain practical tips for navigating the digital landscape. As we head into December, the PWG is gearing up for a festive holiday party. This upcoming event is not only an occasion for joy and celebration but also an opportunity for our members to reflect on their achievements and the supportive community that the PWG has fostered. It's a time to connect, inspire, and continue the journey of empowerment that defines the Dress for Success Professional Women’s Group.
