Are you working in global health, One-Health or international development? Submit a short, impactful video that powerfully illustrates a global health, environmental or development challenge or solution. It must be under 5 minutes in duration. There are two categories: Global Challenges, or High Impact Programs. Winners will be highlighted at CUGH2022. The deadline for submission is February 1st, 2022. This competition is NOT for commercial organizations to submit their work.

This award recognizes a neglected issue or story in global health and development. The winner will be featured in Global Health Now and CUGH's global network. SUBMIT HERE. The deadline is February 15th, 2022.

On, Thursday, February 3rd, 9:30am - 10:45am EST the Brookings Africa Growth Initiative will host former World Bank Director of Health, Population and Nutrition, Dr. Olusoji Adeyi, CUGH's Executive Director, Dr. Keith Martin and other global health leaders to discuss strategies for self-sufficiency, reforming development assistance and ending neo-dependency on aid. See NPR's report on the new CORBEVAX vaccine developed by Drs. Peter Hotez and Maria Elena Botazzi from Baylor University and Texas Children's Hospital. This evolution in vaccine development enables LMICs to produce an effective, affordable vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 and inoculate their populations.

Many academic institutions in low - low middle income countries (LLMIC) do not have access to modern libraries. This is a serious obstacle to their training and research activities. It is a structural disparity in global health. We can rectify this.

We invite you to please fill out this form if you may be able to provide online access to your library with students and faculty at an LLMIC institution. Due to the generosity of Dr. Robert and Leslie Suskind, a new award will be presented annually at CUGH's conference to an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of outstanding service in improving child health globally. Nominations will close on Feb. 14th, EOD and are open to all. The winner will be offered a chance to deliver a keynote speech, live or taped during a satellite session before the conference, a plaque and a $1,000 USD check to cover travel costs if the meeting is in person. Nominate a truly outstanding leader who has improved children's wellbeing HERE.

On Oct 15th, CUGH held a very successful half day symposium on climate change and health. It included specific solutions from leaders in the health and climate change fields. If you were unable to attend our symposium, CUGH has put together a summary report of recommendations to address climate change and improve health outcomes. Please see and share the recording of the symposium.

Attention colleagues from LMICs - SUBMIT A COMMENTARY

If you are a scientist, researcher or implementer from a low or middle-income country, send us a commentary that describe innovations, challenges and opportunities in global health. Submissions should be between 500 to 800 words. You may also include videos that describe the issue. Some will be published in our bulletin and on www.cugh.org. Help us to draw attention to these issues.

The Climate and Health Responder Course for Health Professionals is a free, virtual 8-week course giving health care professionals the tools to effectively respond to the climate and health crisis in their communities and institutions. The course will be held February 8th - April 5th, 2022 on Tuesdays. Register now.

While there is growing awareness of the steep health impacts of global environmental changes—including the climate crisis, accelerating biodiversity loss, and an increasing saturation of plastic and chemical wastes—bringing the health and environment sectors together for joint action is easier said than done. AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PUBLIC HEALTH NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER EDITIONS
