Message from the Principal
Dear DHS staff, students, and families,

Today and throughout the weekend, several of our students will be representing DHS as they compete at the State Level, as all-state musicians, bowler, and dance team. We are incredibly proud of each student - and their support system including coaches, performing arts directors, parents/guardians, and our entire school community. Please join me in cheering on our Warriors!

We are also proud to share that DHS has earned the College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding female student access to AP Computer Science Principles (CSP). This award acknowledges 1,020 schools for their work toward equal gender representation during the 2020-21 school year. DHS is one of only 760 schools in the nation (1 of 22 in Illinois) to be recognized for achieving this significant result in AP CSP. We are incredibly proud of our teachers, Mr. Aaron Rodgers and Ms. Mary Crystal Costantini, for their leadership and to all of our students for hard work and engagement in this meaningful program.

Sincerely,
Principal Kathryn Anderson

ILMEA All-State Honors Musicians
Congratulations to our All-State Honors Musicians:

  • Zach Guo - 1st place Instrumental Solo Composition
  • Will Lewis, Trumpet, Honors Orchestra First Chair
  • Annaliese Choi, Flute, Honors Band Second Chair

These students auditioned with hundreds of other high school musicians from all over Illinois and were chosen based on their tone, technique, reading skills, and creativity. Our DHS students will join their peers from Illinois high schools from every corner of the state in Peoria for a weekend of masterclass experiences led by college conductors and professors from around the country. Competition for these groups is very strong, and it is a great honor to be selected. Earning this achievement truly means that they are some of the very top musicians in the State of Illinois! Congratulations!!

DHS PTO College Scholarship Fund Accepting Donations
For more than 40 years, The Deerfield High School PTO has sponsored an annual college scholarship fund to benefit deserving Deerfield High School seniors. With the rising cost of a college education and the continuing economic strain on many families, especially over the last couple of years, a college degree might be out of financial reach for some of our students.

Please consider making a gift of ANY AMOUNT by March 4th. See the PTO letter linked below for more details about how to contribute to this important fund.
