Dear Savio Family,
Being busy is a good thing, and a not so good thing. Depends on what is consuming your time, attention, or energy and what level of choice or ownership you had with deciding your role with it.
Some things are pre-planned and scheduled like weekly meetings, workouts, errands, and attending Mass at your parish (the pastors appreciate when I put in a plug for this obligation). All of these activities and many others are part of our set course, our choice, and our priorities.
Then there are "God's Plan" moments such as illnesses, accidents, last-minute meetings, home and car needs, and other needs that just pop up. These are the ones we have to attend to but were not in our scheduled "busy" list.
No matter what fills our calendar or our minds and hearts, we need to remember that God walks with us every step of the way. Not just during Lent, or retreat, or moment of crisis. Every breath, every step, every moment He is with us. We can rely on that, even if we do not feel His presence or hear his voice during those times.
Let us all remember that we are apostles and we can also provide help to others during their unplanned moments. Sometimes it is simple, like refraining from spreading gossip, or offering a listening ear and heart, or giving a "just because" note or message of love and encouragement.
May this last stretch of the Lenten journey, with all the "busyness" of Holy Week and Easter Sunday, be filled with awareness that you are not alone, you are loved, and you can be a part of God's plan to let others know that too.
Take care and God bless.
Tim
