Stewardship Message

Ministry Feature: Facilities

As a part of our 2024 Stewardship campaign, Led by the Spirit to Make a Difference in 2024, this week's featured ministry area is Facilities.

It’s been a busy year in the life of St. Mike’s, and we are extremely grateful to our Junior Wardens, Danny Raider and Mike Mapes, and our many volunteers who have worked countless hours behind the scenes to keep our more than 30,000 square feet of building and grounds in tip-top shape. In addition to handling a repair related work order once a week on average, several major projects were completed this year. The walls in the Gathering Space were painted and new track lighting installed to better display The Saint John's Bible. Carpets were cleaned throughout the church, and outside, all the sprinkler manifolds were replaced. Tremendous improvements were made to the lighting in the Multipurpose Room and most recently, our shower project was completed. We also moved over 10 tons of rock to improve aesthetics beyond our walls. Largely through the efforts of Regina Winters and Mike Mapes, St. Michael's was awarded a $39,325 grant to improve physical security in and around our church. You can expect to see those improvements in 2024. The work of these servants and the many others who mow the grounds, plant and weed the gardens, and help clean up our property save us a significant amount of money each year and allow us to be more faithful stewards of your treasure.

We ask that you please prayerfully complete the 2024 pledge cards mailed to your home on or before this Sunday, Celebration Sunday. To learn more and to make a pledge online, click below.

Adopt-a-Nativity

November 26, 9:15 AM

“Dear brothers and sisters, the Christmas crèche is part of the precious yet demanding process of passing on the faith.” (Pope Francis) The tradition of setting up nativity scenes arouses great awe and touches our hearts as we relive the wondrous story of God lowering himself to become flesh for us and our salvation. This Advent we are offering an opportunity to be moved in a new and different way toward the manger by adopting a nativity. Those interested in participating should bring a nativity set to church on or before November 26. For the Sunday Forum on November 26, Rev. Matt will share more about the history and meaning of the nativity, and then you will have an opportunity to select a nativity set to adopt and enjoy throughout Advent.
