Using Drugs and Alcohol is a Choice
Some people still think that drug addicts and alcoholics choose to use substances and can just stop whenever they want to. This is based on the idea that addiction is a choice, and that people who are addicted are simply weak-willed. However, this is not the case. Addiction is a disease, and people who are addicted cannot simply stop using substances whenever they want to.

Addiction alters the brain, and it is not something that somebody can simply quit on their own accord. Addiction changes the way the brain functions, and it is very difficult to break the addiction without the correct help.

Continuing to speak out in this way can be dangerous for people who need the appropriate help.

If you or a loved one is battling addiction, please seek help from others who have recovered. There are many resources available to help you on your journey to recovery. Don't be afraid to ask for help from those who have been through it before.

Recovered drug addicts and alcoholics can help you or your loved one recover in a sustainable way by sharing their experience and providing support.
We have achieved 30% of our goal to sign up 100 people for our Gives Every Month Campaign (GEM Campaign). To support the AZ House, please consider joining the GEM initiative. For $36 a month, you can help feed a resident three meals a day for one week!
Testimonials
What are your feelings toward the AZ House?

I walked into the AZ House and was given another chance at life.

I was lucky enough to be brought to an organization that was built by people like me and recovered. Today I have recovered as well and continue to flourish, being a contributor to society. My family and friends finally have relief and know that I'm ok.

My heart goes out to people who need this kind of help and don't receive it.

The Truth About Drug Addiction
Aron is an 18 year old boy who looks normal on the outside. But there is something holding him back from opening up, and he is holding on to a deep dark secret.

Join his family as they discover this secret and experience their horror in dealing with it.

Watch them learn, painfully, how the world has been turned upside down and what seems right is unraveling as damaging before their very eyes.

Share their pain as they watch their son disappear from their lives, and be uplifted with them when he comes back to them.
