DECEMBER 2022
A message from President Kathy Walter
A Year in Review

Dear Colleague:

As we get ready to say goodbye to 2022, I want to reflect on all that we were able to accomplish together. Thank you for being a part of MARC NAHRO.

  • Offered two virtual webinars related to the NAHRO Alaska Knowledge Exchange
  • Sponsored a virtual Sec. 3 and Labor Standards training
  • Ranked number one in the NAHRO August Advocacy letter-writing campaign
  • Participated in Housing America Events: the Poster Contest and the Merit College Scholarship
  • Produced a successful annual conference and trade show, co-sponsored with New Jersey NAHRO
  • Formed a Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee, which is working a regional diversity award
  • Continued to participate in the NAHRO PD Revenue Share program

What’s on the horizon for 2023

We will continue to stay connected with you via e-blasts, help you grow professionally via PD trainings; celebrate members and agencies that are doing good work via individual and agency awards; and continue to advocate for funding for our programs and regulatory relief.

As you build out your schedule for 2023, be sure to include these events:

I would like to congratulate my Executive Director, friend and fellow MARC Board member Brian Yaworsky, a wonderful, fun, and relaxing retirement. Brian has been with the Housing Authority of the County of Beaver for more than 40 years. Brian is set to retire the beginning of February.

I wish you joy, peace, and good cheer this holiday season. I hope you have time to relax, recharge, reconnect with family and friends and enjoy the simple gift of time away from your busy everyday lives.
