The sunny study area of the library now hosts two new 4' square oak tables generously funded by James and Jeanne Hand of Warner. The Tempus style tables, purchased from Tucker Library Interiors of Manchester N.H. are rugged and beautiful, and we hope they will serve for a 100 years or more!
Complimenting the tables are sturdy oak chairs, and a circular table, all acquired from Hooksett Library due to their recent renovation.

National & State Library funds update: (see Mar. 20 & 27 issues for previous news)
All four of NH's delegation have sent a joint letter to the President urging support for IMLS, libraries and museums, and outlining the economic benefits to NH of museum and library support through the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
All employees of IMLS have been put on paid leave and DOGE has been in the building.
State Libraries are now being notified of cancellation of their LSTA grants as of April 1. These constitute between 40 and 50% of the funds State Libraries use to assist other libraries. In NH the $1.5M of LSTA funding supports Libby downloadable books, and the Interlibrary loan system. https://www.everylibrary.org/trump_termination_imls_grants

45-50 people showed up for the March 27 Skywatch event at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, for a chilly but amazingly clear evening of star viewing with all kinds of telescopes brought by the NH Astronomical Society.
The library's telescope, donated by NHAS for people to borrow, was set up to provide a good view of Jupiter and two of its moons (tiny but clear.) Contact us to borrow this!
Thanks so much to the NHAS and to Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum for hosting!
