Happy Information and Referral Day!

November 16th marks the celebration known as National Information and Referral (I&R) Day. It is an opportunity for us to acknowledge and appreciate the work done daily by our 211 Alameda County staff of professionals who link services to people through information and referral programs.

An often overlooked element of community care, I&R teams provide individuals in need with service providers such as charities, churches, hospitals, and other human service entities. These support networks are often managed by United Way 211 programs, aging and disability organizations, and other nonprofits. Right here in Alameda County, Eden I&R helps thousands of individuals navigate the trials of homelessness, hunger, health struggles, and other crises. Please consider making a gift today to support our callers and staff!

In Memory Of Chris Low

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Chris Low, longtime Board Member and supporter of Eden I&R. Chris stepped off the board after more than 25 years of service to the agency in 2020. Over those years, Chris served in a variety of roles, including as Board Chair. His tireless efforts on behalf of Eden I&R for a quarter of a century were so appreciated, and his work will have a long-lasting impact around the Bay Area. Chris never stopped working for underserved community members. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held on December 9th at the Castro Valley United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome! Please dress in casual attire in Chris' remembrance. Instead of flowers, his family has asked to please consider donating to Castro Valley United Methodist Church, Eden I&R, or a charity of your choice.
