2022Read.png

Congratulations Normandale students on reading 593,300 minutes during this year's Read-a-thon, La lecture, c'est magique! We surpassed our all school reading goal of 500,000 minutes! Bravo!

Now is the time to turn in pledges to support your student's reading! To donate, go to www.normandalepto.org for online donations. Thank you for supporting our students and our French Intern Program with your tax deductible donations.

The final weekly classroom raffle will be held on February 25th. Please turn in your completed reading logs to your classroom teacher.

The last day to submit reading logs will be February 28th. Three grand prize winners will be drawn from ALL the reading logs submitted during the month of February. Winners will receive a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card.

Final collection of pledges will be due March 4th. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Normandale PTO and our incredible intern program. Donate here.

Check out the normandalepto.org website for additional information on:

As part of our Read-a-thon, students can listen to the video recordings of the Star of the North picture book contest by the Minnesota Youth Reading Awards group. Read all the books from the Star of the North nominees and vote at the end of the Read-a-thon!

Students can ALSO listen to the video recordings of the Albertine Prix Jeunesse books written and recorded in French. Special thanks to Isa Punchard and Laura Volgre (2nd-grade intern) for their help in recordings. Read all of the books and vote at the end of the Read-a-thon.

Thank you for your continued support of our Read-a-thon. La lecture, c'est magique!

READ-A-THON HUB

2022 IMAGINATION FAIR

Our annual Imagination Fair is an opportunity for Normandale students to showcase their experiments, inventions, or creations. All Normandale students, from kindergarten – 5th grade are invited to participate. Students may work alone, with another student, or in a group.

Online project registration: Friday, February 25th – Sunday, March 6th.

Don’t know where to start? Projects don’t have to be complicated! Let your imagination, creativity, and inventiveness guide you. Explore whatever interests you at the moment…nature, mechanics, art, technology, fashion, chemistry, photography, animals, weather, crafts, or any other hobbies.

To reduce the potential spread of COVID-19, grades K-2 will display their projects in the auditorium and grades 3-5 in the small gym.
