WIN TELLY AWARD
Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth (FBP) has earned a Bronze Award for Non-Broadcast Video Production in the 43rd Annual Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and are judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies, including Adobe, Netflix, Dow Jones, Duplass Brothers Productions, Complex Networks, Jennifer Garner, A&E Networks, Hearst Media, Nickelodeon, ESPN Films, RYOT, Partizan and Vimeo.

“Now, more than ever, it is necessary to celebrate video work that reflects the top tier of our industry, such as Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth,” said Telly Awards Executive Director Sabrina Dridje. “This year’s submissions reflect an industry that has returned to the important work of storytelling, one that has returned with a new perspective that values innovation, agility, equity, and tenacious creativity.”
FBP received the award for their submission of Preparing the Future PORTS D&D Project, showcasing photography and video drone footage of the site project. Donnie Locke, an FAA-licensed drone operator provided aerial video and edited the final product; Michelle Teeters, FBP’s photographer, supplied a series of still photos; and, Jack Williams directed the project and final edit.
“We have a great team of talented professionals and are excited about this award,” said Jack Williams, director of Communications for Fluor-BWXT. “It is an honor to be recognized for the hundreds of hours that our team puts in to capture history-in-the-making during the demolition of the X-326 process building.”
This year, The Telly Awards attracted more than 12,000 entries from top video content producers including Netflix, Jennifer Garner, HBO Latin America, Microsoft, RadicalMedia, Condé Nast, Adobe, Nickelodeon, and Partizan. Husted Announces Launch of IMAP Grant Opportunity, TechCred Application Round for November
Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, who serves as Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, announced that the application periods for both TechCred and the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP) launch today and will run through the end of November.
“Both TechCred and IMAP continue to do well, and demand is strong among businesses, training providers and Ohioans wanting to learn a new, tech-focused skill,” said Lt. Governor Husted. “With Ohio winning big on economic development projects around the state, we’ll need to fill the open jobs with the right kind of talent, and the application opportunities announced today aim to help on that effort and boost our workforce.”.....

THE CAC’S HALLOWEEN EVENT
WAS A WICKEDLY HUGE SUCCESS!
A Success Story
The Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) hosted their annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the multipurpose building at the Pike County Fairgrounds. The CAC’s Events Committee members worked diligently to create a spooky atmosphere of decorations and ambience that correlated with the theme of this year’s event, “Hocus Pocus Community Focus,” which was based on the holiday-classic film. Due to the brisk autumn weather, tables were set up and decorated in lieu of vehicle trunks. In addition to the many programs at the CAC, the agency’s partners and some local businesses participated in passing out candy and treats to the event-goers......

“This year’s Adena Pike Medical Center annual gala, “Honoring our Hometown Heroes,” pays tribute to those who put their heroic qualities on display in their work, volunteerism and in raising their families to make the community a better place. Upcycling Workshop
The FREE Tax Preparation and Financial Literacy Program at the Community Action Committee of Pike County is offering an Upcycling Workshop the evening of Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the OhioMeansJobs Career Center of Pike County located at 941 Market Street in Piketon.
This workshop is being offered at no cost. The workshop will explore how to reuse, revamp, and remake common everyday items into new gift ideas for the Holiday season. Projects will be made in class for participants to take home!
