THE COMMUNITY ACTION CONNECTION

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 16, 2023

As we approach the 60th Anniversary of Community Action, created as part of the Great Society Programs in 1964, we reflect on how grateful we are for the opportunity to help our friends and neighbors living with low incomes across the state, in every city and town, to plan for a hopeful future.

WE ARE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL EVERY DAY FOR:

  • the privilege to serve and advocate for and with hundreds of thousands of our vulnerable friends and neighbors through and alongside the 23 Community Action Agencies in Massachusetts.
  • the work with our elected and appointed officials here in MA and in Washington D.C. to change lives and communities.
  • the collaboration with our many partners and allies in working to create opportunity and fight for equity.
  • the opportunity to continue to work toward our mission of advancing economic, racial, and social justice and creating communities where everyone thrives.
  • the support we are able to provide for the work of the 23 Community Action Agencies (their boards, leaders and dedicated teams), who every day live our shared commitment to fighting poverty here in the wealthiest country in the world.

We wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving!
