Voice of the Bruins to Sing at Patriots’ Day Morning Ceremony April 17

Todd Angilly, the Voice of the Bruins, will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Patriots’ Day Morning Ceremony on April 17, at 8 AM.

Angilly is a Warwick, Rhode Island, native who now lives in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. He trained as an opera singer at the New England Conservatory, and has performed for all five Boston professional sports teams.

Angilly initially performed the anthem at TD Garden on November 2, 2017, as the Bruins faced off against the Vegas Golden Knights. While working as a bartender at the SportsDeck, Angilly was asked to fill in for the previously scheduled anthem singer who was unable to make it into TD Garden. In 2019, he became the official Anthem singer for the Boston Bruins in October 2019.

Lexington Police Pledge to Advance Equity in Policing by Signing 30x30 Pledge

As Women’s History Month concludes, Chief Michael McLean and members of the Lexington Police Department are proud to announce they have joined law enforcement agencies across the country in signing the 30x30 pledge.

The Pledge is the foundational effort of the 30x30 Initiative – a coalition of police leaders, researchers, and professional organizations who have joined together to advance the representation and experiences of women in all ranks of policing across the United States.

The 30x30 Initiative is affiliated with the Policing Project at NYU School of Law and the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives (NAWLEE).

“The Lexington Police Department is dedicated to equity in the way in which we police the community, as well as the career opportunities and growth offered within the Department," said Chief Michael McLean. "I am excited to collaborate with members of the 30x30 Initiative, partnering police agencies, town government, and staff at LPD on this important endeavor,” he added.

Hydrants Flushing Program Begins April 9

In an ongoing effort to provide our residents with quality drinking water, the Water Division will be conducting the annual town-wide Hydrant Flushing Program starting Sunday, April 9. The program will begin in both East Lexington and West Lexington and will continue moving from east to west and from west to east towards the middle of town until the flushing is completed.

Timing

In an effort to minimize any inconvenience, flushing of the water system will be completed between the hours of 9:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M., Monday through Thursday. No flushing will be done during the weekends.

What to Expect

Residents may experience some discoloration in their water in the areas being flushed. If discoloration does occur, we ask that you run your cold water from a none-filtered faucet, like your bathtub or basement sink, for a short time to clear up the water.

You may want to plan your water usage, such as bathing, cooking or other water required activities, so they will not be during the time the system is being flushed. Or you can fill jugs of water.

Contact Information

We apologize for any inconvenience that may occur. If you have any question you can reach the Water Division at 781-274-8300 Ex.1 or visit us on the Town website.
