Art Theology Retreat

Exploring the Colors of Divine Love

This Saturday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

This day-long retreat, facilitated by special guest, Angela Hummel, will focus on exploring our ideas of God and divine love through "color thinking." Angela is a member of St. Johns Cathedral in Denver and a DMin student at Iliff school of Theology where she is working on her color thinking project. Color thinking creates opportunities for us to connect, rather than argue about, our various ideas of God as well as deepen our relationship to God, others, and ourselves. Please click below for more detailed information and to register.

All Saints Service

Name Submissions Deadline

Noon, Monday, October 30

Each year we honor those who have gone before us to be with God. At our All Saints Service next Wednesday, November 1 at 12:00 PM and at the start of the services on Sunday, November 5, we will read the names of those remembered by our St. Michael's family. Please submit names by clicking below by next Monday, October 30. (Please note: The All Saints Service will replace our normal Healing Service next week.)

Even though many saints of the church are remembered throughout the calendar year, All Saints provides a dedicated day to call to memory those saints who have led the way before us. We honor the example of their lives and deaths and rejoice in the continued communion with them through membership and participation in the body of Christ.

Inclement Weather

Please Exercise Caution!

We knew this mild weather couldn't last forever and that winter would soon be making a grand appearance! It looks like this weekend could bring some inclement weather, and if so, remember your safety is our top priority. Please exercise caution as you make decisions about whether to venture out.

Stewardship Message

Ministry Feature: Worship & Music

As a part of our 2024 Stewardship campaign, Led by the Spirit to Make a Difference in 2024, this week's featured ministry area is Worship & Music.

One might argue that worship and music make up the beating heart of our communal church life. Regular Sunday services require much more than might be apparent to the weekly congregant. Notwithstanding the considerable preparation required by the clergy, once you enter the sanctuary, everything you hear and see is the result of the work done by so many: the bulletin, flowers, musicians, the linens and altar setting, the acolytes, readers and chalice bearers, to name a few. None of the things that support your worship experience happens on its own. Our volunteers are critical!

Services like the Wednesday Healing service, Tuesday and Thursday Online evening services, Compline, and Friday Evening Prayer, provide additional ways for us to be a part of the worship experience, not to mention the online streaming of the 10:30 AM service every Sunday.

Music is central to our worship! So much has been done to expand the musical offerings at St. Michael’s. At the core is the Music Director, our Organist/Pianist and the choir. But there is so much more: special music provided by guest vocalists, brass and strings musicians, our handbell choir, special concert performances and the young Cherub Choir all serve to enhance our worship.

In the coming weeks you are encouraged to reflect on your gifts received and gifts given by completing the pledge cards mailed to your home. To learn more and to make a 2024 pledge online, click below.
