Halloween Safety Tips for Families

Get the costume and candy bowl ready! Halloween is one of the most exciting nights of the year for kids (and kids at heart!). For many parents, however, the fun can be accompanied by stress and anxiety for the safety of their children. Kids love the magic of Halloween, but while costumes are essential for trick-or-treaters, so is traffic safety. To assist the community in enjoying this magical holiday as safely as possible, we want to offer some easy and effective safety tips for Halloween that will make this spooky trick-or-treating night a fun filled and safe event for the entire family.

Recycling this Holiday Season

The holidays are quickly approaching! Before you know it your house will be filled with holiday cheer, guests, and lots of items that can be recycled instead of going into the landfill! Knowing the most environmentally beneficial ways to dispose of everyday holiday products is essential. EDCO would like to kindly remind the community to separate waste properly during this holiday season and has provided specific guidelines for each cart. Click 'Learn More' for EDCO's specific guidelines and find out what items are suitable for each cart.

Scare Away Hunger Peanut Butter Drive

Only 4 More Days to Donate!

There are only 4 days left to participate in the Scare Away Hunger Peanut Butter Drive, a collaboration between the City of Solana Beach and the North County Food Bank during the month of October. We encourage you to support this campaign by donating unopened jars of peanut butter to help feed local children living in poverty. Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein for children and families. It is popular with kids, it's shelf-stable, and one jar can provide more than 12 sandwiches. There are two ways you can participate in the Scare Away Hunger Peanut Butter Drive. You can drop off donations at City Hall or make a donation securely online through the Virtual Food Drive platform.
