Dear friend,

I hope your fall season is going well. This week, you’ll find a reminder to complete AGW’s annual producer survey along with resources on deciphering food labels for your customers (and anyone who needs a little extra help through the maze). We’re gearing up for the holiday season—including promotion for AGW-certified products—and end-of-year fundraising. We’re also training new auditors for upcoming audits in AGW certification programs and are taking questions daily from farms and businesses seeking certification for their farms, products or supply chains. It’s a busy season, and we’re grateful for you.

REMINDER: Complete the 2022 Producer Survey by November 4
If you haven’t completed our 2022 Producer Survey, don’t miss this opportunity to tell us how we can better serve you. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by Friday, November 4th and be entered to win several prizes. Questions? Contact your regional coordinator.

For Your Customers: Understanding Meat Labels Webinar 11/2
Do you get questions from your customers on the meaning of different food labels? There’s a lot of confusion out there about labels like grassfed, pasture raised, cage free and more. On November 2, 12pm Eastern, North Carolina Cooperative Extension is hosting a webinar on this topic and will be joined by representatives from AGW, USDA and NCDA&CS. You don’t have to live in NC to attend this free event, and if you’re looking for online resources to share with your customers, our blog post “Behind the Label” is a great place to start.
