President’s Points of Pride

This Saturday at Ram Stadium, Shepherd honors veterans for Military Appreciation Day and senior football players for Senior Day. We are excited about the planned C-17 flyover—piloted by Capt. Ryan Day, Capt. Trevor Whittington, Lt. Max Vickerman, and Sgt. Isaiah Redman—during the playing of the National Anthem. As part of our halftime show, we will pay tribute to World War II (WWII) combat veteran Jack Myers; Korean War veteran Ed Ringoot, who served in the U.S. Air Force as a medical material specialist providing medical supplies to hospital units in the conflict zone; and Korean War veteran James Mayhue, who served as a combat infantryman and chaplain assistant with the 27th Infantry Regiment. Halftime will also feature a special remembrance of the late Charles Freeland, a “Hump” pilot during WWII, a graduate of Shepherd, and later, a professor and author of four books. The Ram Band will perform a song from the WWII era called “Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing),” followed by a flyover from two Warbirds, T-6 aircraft used as trainers in WWII, piloted by David Kahley and Jim Koch. #GORAMS
