Covid Safety Precautions:
In charity for one another, due to the recent Covid uptick, I ask everyone to please follow the following safety protocols:

- Please wear a mask in Church, whether or not you have been vaccinated. Please wear it CORRECTLY – covering your nose and chin completely. Thank you!

- Do not come to Mass if…
  • If you are not feeling well, or if you experience any of the following symptoms (fever, or head cold or sore throat, or non-allergy related runny nose).
  • If you have been exposed to someone with Covid, and neither of you were properly masked. Please refrain from coming to Mass until you get a negative Covid test.
  • If you are uncertain then it is best to stay home until you get a negative Covid test.
  • If you are feeling well but one of the above scenarios are yours, then refrain from entering church, but right after Mass, Fr Joseph would be happy to go outside and bring Holy Communion to you just outside of the church, either in your car or if you have no car then right outside of the church (a little away from others). Simply wait with mask on in your car (or if no car, just outside of church) and ask someone to let Fr Joseph know that you are waiting for Communion. Earlier that morning before the Mass, contact one of the staff to alert Fr Joseph to your need.

If you need Covid testing, particularly at this time when travel and gathering requirements have overloaded the testing sites - go to the Essex County College at 177 West Market St, Newark. They use the new saliva PCR, developed by Rutgers & Yale. T. It usually takes 24-48 hours to get results. See below for other places in Newark. It does say only for Newark residents, but for the one at Essex County College, they don’t require this and also no requirement for insurance or ID. https://www.newarknj.gov/news/covid-19-testing
Letter from Fr Joseph Meagher

January 15, 2021

Dear brothers & sisters in Christ

This past Thursday, January 13, Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law in NJ the infamous Freedom of Reproductive Choice Act (A6260/S49). This is one of most vile and humanly degrading pro-abortion laws in the world.

As Marie Tasy, executive director of New Jersey
Right to Life, has rightly stated: "This law... signed a death warrant for thousands of innocent children.”

We see the imperative of proclaiming of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Author of Life and the only One who has authority over life and death. The timeless words of John the Baptist and Jesus alike call us to repent and believe in the gospel.

In connection with this, please listen below to a 5-minute teaching by Fr Chris Alar, MIC, wherein he affirms that Jesus gave us the gift of Chaplet of Divine Mercy to be the remedy for the scourge of abortion.

Secondly, listen also to a brief presentation by Peter Herbert of Renewal Ministries, who reminds us not to lose heart, but to keep our fixed eyes on Jesus, because what we are seeing is the "unmasking of devil". Peter Herbeck's words are truly prophetic and incredibly relevant to properly understanding what is going on in this time.

We have added a video series by Dr. Brant Pitre to our Tuesday Night Scripture Study. Join us in person and on Zoom! Start with the Rosary at 7pm (Rosary every nite at 7pm), then the Scripture Study starts at 8pm.
A note about Dr Pitre:

Dr Brant Pitre is a renowned & insightful Bible scholar.

What blessing it is to listen to Dr Pitre's study on the Mass readings, to " be instructed in the Old Testament background of the Gospel, the Jewish rabbinical tradition, the testimony and interpretation of the early Church Fathers, the Church's magisterial teaching, and the personal insights of a leading Catholic Scripture scholar.
Dr. Pitre makes the Scripture come alive, and his love for God's Word comes through loud and clear. He communicates profound insights into Scripture in a manner available to everyone, from the beginner to the accomplished student or scholar"
Fr. Miles Walsh, S.T.D.
