Nosh and Learn + Tikkun Olam

Please join the Southside Jewish Collaborative for a D'var Torah from Rabbi Jeremy Sher. Following the teaching, we will prepare bagged meals for those in need. For those joining online, the teaching will begin at 2:30 pm.

Open Shabbat with the Night Ministry

Or Shalom will join San Francisco’s Night Ministry in offering an outdoor Open Shabbat at the corner of 16th & Mission Streets. The Night Ministry’s pastors and rabbi offer regular religious services on the streets of San Francisco’s Mission District and Tenderloin. All are welcome to join in the Kabbbalat Shabbat service. We will also distribute bagged meals prepared during Nosh and Learn + Tikkun Olam.

Kabbalat Shabbat vs. Ma'ariv
Kabbalat Shabbat is the welcoming of Shabbat, and Ma’ariv is the evening service which begins with the Barchu as we call to each other to go deeper into prayer.

Second-Night Community Seder

Congregation Ner Tamid President Charlotte Hyman has graciously invited the Or Shalom community to their second-night seder led by Rabbi Shana & Cantor Rudy. The cost is $65 per person.
