Gao Yuan on-Commander Douglas Stevenson return project


A special project created by artist Gao Yuan during her studio residency period. The magical connection to Commander Stevenson and his family - former resident in house 7b -also his connection to Taiwan and his visits to the East Asian country.

I bet you didn’t know that Talking Taiwan’s award-winning producer Kaju is also the original recording artist Rad Jet, a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, arranger, filmmaker, and performer. Get ready for Rad to perform a short set at TAAC’s closing ceremony with some surprise guest friends!

THIS Saturday, October 28 at 2:00pm Kaju will be performing his original music compositions as the artist Rad Jet at the closing ceremony for the Taiwanese American Arts Council -TAAC’s house on Governors Island With SPECIAL guest, Rico Jones, six time Downbeat Magazine Award Winner,Tenor Saxophonist.

Artist: Ming-Jer Kuo's work Title: New Island Hopping: Spratly Islands in South China Sea, 2023 Material: Inkjet print on sticker label, drawing paper and transparent film

Ming-Jer Kuo has added a new site-specific piece of geopolitical mapping that addresses the numerous, often unknown, competitions surrounding the ocean off of Southeast Asia.. This delicate installation is strategically significant in understanding the regional dynamics.

The exhibition through multiple channels will focus on the concept of “island” as interpreted through the work of artists connected to islands in a variety of ways and from a variety of backgrounds. More Than 40 Multi Disciplinary artists create exquisite art work and striking performances from the studio and show in the exhibitions.
