This Sunday’s Zoom Service: 10:30 am
Many apologies, but I forgot to announce that due to Sunday's formation program, which Trinity is hosting (11:30 am in the hall), our Zoom service this Sunday (November 21) will be at 10:30 am (rather than 11 am).

Message from Interim Rector
Beginning a New (Church) Year
Dear fellow travelers at Trinity,

The celebration of the Reign of Christ or “Christ the King” is, believe it or not, the last Sunday of the “church year.” (We actually have our own “year”!) The first Sunday of Advent, which points the way to Christmas, marks our annual new beginning. And so this Sunday is an opportunity to close the door on some of what is past in Trinity’s life as a church and, I hope, look forward in hope to what comes next.

One way of “planning for the future” is the giving campaign materials that were mailed out some weeks ago. This Sunday we will gather in pledge forms and the promises they signify and give thanks for the generosity they represent.

The past 18 months has been a challenging time to manage church finances, and I want to thank both the finance and stewardship committees for their efforts in these times.

Today, I write with my own encouragement to make your gift for 2022: I realize it is difficult to make a pledge as Trinity continues to pass through a time of uncertainty. While acknowledging that challenge, I was encouraged by the participation and energy at our October retreat. The hopes shared there, and the vestry’s decision to call a priest-in-charge to work with Trinity to redevelop itself and its mission over the next several years, are worthy of support.

I realize, of course, that we do not yet know who that priest-in-charge will be. So my encouragement in the meantime is this: Make your gift not so much with a new leader in mind but as a commitment to one another to walk together into the new future God is calling you to seek.

And with you, I look forward in hope,

Bryan

P.S. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the parish office will be closed on Thursday and Friday (November 25 and 26). Bryan will be in the office on Wednesday, November 24. There will be no morning prayer on Thanksgiving Day; the Bible study will meet via Zoom on Saturday morning, November 27.
“Tell Me the Truth About Racism”

Our next session of the intergenerational “Tell Me the Truth about Racism” series will be this Sunday, November 21 here at Trinity at 11:30 am. Please join in this challenging and important conversation.

Advent Recital, Saturday, December 11 at 4 pm

Following the very successful concert presented by the Artemis Chamber Orchestra held at Trinity last month, we are excited to host an Advent Recital on Saturday, December 11 at 4 pm, followed by a light reception in Wolcott Hall.

The concert will feature musicians from Trinity along with some of our talented friends! We hope you will come to enjoy this festive afternoon of music! More to come later!

Scripture Study Meets Saturday Mornings

Please join us on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. (2 p.m. UTC) on Zoom for our Scripture Study.

Participants take turns facilitating prayer and reflection on any or all of the current Sunday's lectionary readings, which are available at https://www.lectionarypage.net  (We use Track 2, if there is a choice.)

Weekly facilitators choose any or all of the readings and simply come prepared with a few wonderings or questions (not "quizzes") based on their selected scriptures to stimulate reflection--including questions they feel they cannot satisfactorily answer. Beyond that, leaders may prepare as little or as much as desired and employ whatever props or helps they wish.
