SOLITO LENT STUDY - Starts Sunday!

If you want to understand the experience and struggle of migrants and asylum seekers, Solito by Javier Zamora is the book for you! Written in the voice of little Javier, an unaccompanied minor journeying from his home country of El Salvador to the U.S., where his parents awaited, the book is raw, beautiful, painful, life- and heart-transforming. You won't be able to put it down! We'll read and discuss the book together as followers of Jesus and lovers of humanity. Facilitated by Revs. Jeff and Janette Miller on Sunday mornings, March 16-30, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 112. Participants are encouraged to read the first three chapters for this Sunday. Learn more

GARDENING CLASS

Join our Giving Garden Team for another free Gardening Class: Growing Sonoran Desert Friendly Bulbs with Master Gardener Pam Perry on Tuesday, March 18, in the Palo Verde Room. Please RSVP to garden@dayspring-umc.org to hold seats in your name.

CAMPUS CLOSED

Our campus and parking lot will be completely closed on March 17 and 19 to prep and resurface our parking lot. Please DO NOT park your car or even walk in our parking lot on those days. If you will be working in the garden on Wednesday, please park on Juniper and walk through the gravel. Thank you!

BORDERLANDS PRODUCE RESCUE

We host our next Borderlands event for the Arcadia neighborhood on Saturday, March 22, at 6am. Volunteers are needed to pack food boxes. This is a great chance to spend time in the neighborhood, interact with neighbors, reduce food waste, and bring healthy food to local families. If you’re interested, please email Pastor Michael.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Dayspring’s next build date is Saturday, March 22nd. We have been asked to provide a team of six. We work from 7am until around noon. No construction experience needed. Come help complete a house for a delightful deserving family, single mom Nicole and her 5-year-old daughter Jasmine. Email Mark Boyle for more information or to volunteer/carpool.

HANDBELL CONCERT

Celebrate spring by attending a handbell concert featuring three area choirs! Your own DayspRingers will join with St. Matthew’s and Arizona Community Church’s handbell choirs on Sunday, March 23, at 3:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. Bring your friends and listen to the bells ring in the spring! Free-will donations are always accepted. Hope to see you there!

MONTHLY TAIZÉ SERVICE

Are you feeling anxious? Stressed? Does your nervous system need a reset? Our next afternoon taizé service is Sunday, February 23, at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Gathered in the presence of Christ, this is a meditative time of common prayer. Silence draws us closer to that inner place where we know God is truly with us.
