Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow!

Watching and waiting for the Christ Child in anticipation of celebrating His birth, our Advent cry is “Come, Lord Jesus, Come”! As we prepare for His birth on Christmas, we imitate His humble beginnings by serving all in our Livingston County community at Catholic Charities since we are all created in God’s image and likeness. “Driven by Faith, Here for All” is our motto and exemplifies the vision and mission Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) co-workers have for this Advent and Christmas season.

God desires salvation for every person which links to our vision for (LCCC). This vision is to provide quality human services to all Livingston County residents regardless of race, sex, religion, age, disability, or financial ability. How do LCCC co-workers live out that vision? Seventy percent of the county residents our LCCC co-workers serve are not of the Catholic faith and many are at or below the poverty level.

Our mission is to share the Love of Christ by performing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. How is this accomplished by LCCC co-workers? Read more...

It's a Christmas Blessing!
"My whole life I have given to everybody else, and now that I need help I don't have anyone" a women shared with volunteer, Chris Wysocki. She then cried when Chris assured her that she has people who care. This is what the Christmas Blessing is all about!
The Christmas Blessing Project is a community supported project. It brings the Love of Christ, Help & Hope to community low income and home-bound seniors by supplying a Christmas food box, hygiene items, cleaning & paper products and more!

We sincerely thank all of the amazingly generous local businesses, individuals, clubs, schools, churches, organizations and groups for the incredible amount of items and funds donated to serve our county's most vulnerable seniors! This year we served almost 200 seniors with your support!

A big thank you to the LCCC Senior Program staff and our amazing volunteers for all the love, dedication and HOURS they have put into this project!! God Bless all of you! Click here for a full list of donors.

Operation Good Cheer Brings Gifts
This year, 18 Livingston County Catholic Charities foster children will be receiving gifts thanks to the efforts of our child welfare staff with the support of a statewide program known as Operation Good Cheer. Beginning in 1971 with 66 recipients, this year the program celebrated its 50th anniversary by providing gifts to over 100,000 youth and adults across the state.

Wish lists were provided to Operation Good Cheer who in turn distributed the lists to donors. Gifts were then dropped off at various sites and then trucked to Pentastar Aviation in Waterford. The gifts were sorted and then loaded on trucks and planes to be delivered the next day for distribution to the agencies who then coordinate the gifts getting to their clients. LCCC Child Welfare staff members Ashlee, Brittany, Flo and Amy worked alongside Major Tom and Anne Kotch and Michelle Kendall-Thayer from Growing Hope Through Love to unload a 15 foot trailer loaded from floor to ceiling with gifts.

Reality Tour - Experience for Parents & Youth
Reality Tour is a community-based drug prevention system designed as a single event to engage parents with their children. It is also a vehicle that networks community resources to enhance prevention on multi-levels, drilling down into the community. Held on evenings so parents WILL attend, this system puts parent and child on the same page and meets the expressed needs of parents. A needs assessment of parents in 2002 revealed a desire for prevention programs to include the possible, ultimate consequences of experimentation. Reality Tour addresses the consequences without using ‘scare tactics’ as documented by our University of Pittsburgh researcher. Sign up today to learn how to have conversations with your youth about substance use.
