WORLD FAMOUS STEW!


We will be hosting a stew fundraiser to benefit American Cancer Society and our Youth Group. Sign-up sheet is going around! Note: because of the rising price of meat, the church has already purchased the beef. Sign up to cook it; you don't have to buy it!

SUNDAY, MARCH 16: SUNDAY SCHOOL AND WORSHIP

  • 10:00am: Sunday School for kids and adults
  • 11:00am: Worship


SUNDAY, MARCH 16, 4PM: MT. TIRZAH YOUTH MEETING IS BACK!


SATURDAY, MARCH 22: MT. TIRZAH DELICIOUS STEW!

  • Potato peel Friday, March 14
  • Stew prep Saturday, March 15 at the crack of dawn or whenever you can get there
  • Stew sale starts late morning


TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 6:30-8:30PM CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING

  • All are invited to attend, and committee members are encouraged to attend!
  • Committee chairs make up the Church Council and should attend if at all possible. For 2023, these include: Dustin Satterfield (Lay Leader, PPR), Amanda Puett (Church Council Chair, UMYF), Danny Vaughn (Trustees, Vice Chair of Church Council), Brenda Clayton (Recording Secretary and Christian Education), Pat Noell (Finance), Patrick Jacques (Treasurer, Membership), Rod Mullen (Pastor, Lay/Nominations Chair), Erin Satterfield (Family Ministries Chair, Lay Delegate to Annual Conference), David Reaves (Security Team Chair), Susan Jacques (Communications, Church Historian)


SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 10am-2pm: DAY OF LEARNING WITH PASTOR ROD

  • Come learn about our basic Christian beliefs. Pastor Rod will guide us as we look at the creeds of the church and select passages of Scripture.
  • Lunch provided!
  • Youth and adults welcome!
  • Some possible Bible verses we might learn more about: 10 Commandments, 23rd Psalm, Beatitudes, Lord's Prayer
  • Feel free to invite friends and neighbors!


THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 7:00PM: SPRING CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES RECOVERING FROM HURRICANE HELENE

  • At Roxboro Baptist Church
  • Admission is free; donations accepted to benefit victims of the hurricane


THURSDAY, APRIL 17: MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE

SATURDAY, APRIL 19: ROUGEMONT EASTER PARADE

SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 7am: EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE

  • At Mt. Tirzah.
  • The service will start at 7. Sunrise will be at 6:35, and you are welcome to come early to watch the beautiful scenes over the cemetery.


SUNDAY, APRIL 20: EASTER CELEBRATION SERVICE followed by EASTER EGG HUNT FOR THE KIDS!

  • (No Sunday School)
  • 11:00am: Worship and Celebrate our Risen Lord!
  • Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn right after worship! (Tentative)

  • Take your styrofoam to First-Elon for recycling into building materials!
  • Take your plastic wrap to Bethany for recycling into park benches!
  • Green Star Recycling, located at 109 Oxford Rd. (Hwy 158), wants your metal! They are open Monday through Friday, 9-4, for drop-offs.
  • The Scrap Exchange in Durham takes all kinds of things, including craft supplies, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap! Click HERE for more details!
  • Recycle textiles! Old socks, shirts, anything that can't be donated that is made of textiles can be stuffed into a bag, purchased at this site, and recycled. Click HERE for details! (I vetted it. It is legit.)
  • Recycle Christmas lights at Lowes!
