Town Hall Meeting - March 26
What:  New Life in Christ Church Town Hall Meeting
When: Sunday, March 26, 2023, after the 10:45 am Contemporary Worship Service
Where: Life Center
Why: Update on the present and future path of our church

We want to update everyone on where we are with the present and future path of our church, as we move our mission forward to Offer New Life in Jesus Christ by Seeking, Shaping, and Sending Disciples.

2022 was a very busy and extremely important year for our church as we left the United Methodist denomination and we dealt with the effects of Hurricane Ian.

In the aftermath of the hurricane, and with Samaritan’s Purse using our campus from the end of September through the second week of December, we decided to wait until this year to begin to determine the future of our church.

After disaffiliation we became an independent church, retaining the same Wesleyan theology, along with Scripture, that has always been the foundation for our beliefs. We will begin to review the advantages of our church’s future either as a member of a network of churches, a traditional denomination like the newly formed Global Methodist Church, or remaining as an independent church.

Many other Methodist Churches in our area are now voting to leave the denomination. As more churches leave, there will be some opportunities with these churches that may develop. We are also beginning the review of the Global Methodist Church organization that was formed in May of last year and is still in its infancy.

Please join us for a brief lunch, get up to date as to where we are, and ask your questions of our church leaders.

We hope to see you on Sunday, March 26th after the 10:45 am Contemporary Service, in the Life Center.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends --

I have been sitting n my room for well over an hour praying, reading, and thinking about what to write about this week. Of course, the more I tried to come up with anything, the more frustrated I became.  Then my prayer changed to "Lord help me." I should know by now, I need to listen for His words and as frequently happens,  something I had read from the devotional I've been reading during Lent came to mind. Amazing how that happens! Talking about the scripture from Matthew 27:37 "Above His head they placed the written charge against Him: This is Jesus, The King of the Jews." They described a sermon that was delivered in 1976 by a pastor from California, titled "That's My King." This is basically a description of Jesus that millions have listened to. It made me start thinking how I might not just describe Christ to someone but be able to describe the hope we, as followers have . What do we love about Jesus? Pastor S.M. Lockridge said,
*He's enduring strong.
*He's entirely sincere.
*He's the pathway to peace.
*He's the gateway of glory. and others.

I would hope I'd tell others that I don't have to be perfect to feel His love; if I make a mistake, He picks up the pieces and gives me peace; when I am in pain and afraid, I only have to say "Jesus help me" and I know I'm not alone. Jesus is always teaching me and my prayer is to know our King more each day.

We are approaching a busy time of special worship services. Holy Thursday is on April 6th at 7 pm in the sanctuary. Please contact me if you're able to help serve at that service. Also, if you can let me know which service you'll attend on Easter Sunday;
6:30 am Sunrise at Laishley Park
8:00 am at Laishley Park
9:15 am Traditional in the Life Center
10:45 am Contemporary at Laishley

As you can imagine, this many events require extra help to welcome and greet, usher, give directions or help answer questions. Pray how you can be part of these meaningful services and email me where you can help. Don't forget Today Matters this Saturday. It should be a great event

I'm praying for you!

Worship Coordinator
