TV SHOW

My daughter and I love the history that goes through every episode. It is also very interesting to see the world from the Queen's point of view.

BOOK
JENNIFER ROBSON

The Gown by Jennifer Robson is a post WWII book based on embroiderers working on Queen Elizabeth's wedding gown. The story behind the 3 main characters is captivating. I read this book in 3 sittings because every time I opened it up it was impossible to close.

TV SHOW

I've watched this series twice and will watch it again because of the development of the women characters.
Don Draper's wife, Don Draper's daughter, Don Draper's assistant, Don Draper's secretaries, Don Draper's friend's wives.
These women are the backbone of the series - every age represented in a snapshot of time.

BOOK
Ann Clare LeZotte

I recently read a youth book Show me a sign by Ann Clare LeZotte. It was an interesting read about the deaf community on Martha's Vineyard in the early 19th century.

MINISERIES

A most binge-worthy limited series! This historical fiction is surprisingly heavy with facts. If you've never heard of the Franklin Expedition, you'll be researching the ill-fated voyage extensively before the final episode.

BOOK
SEBASTIEN DE CASTELL

A swashbuckling action/adventure with great characters, strong friendships, extremely high stakes political machinations, terrific swordfights (very hard to pull off in print), humor, and drama. I was so sorry there were only four books in the series.
