Outdoor movie night at the Marshall-Lyon County Library! We will be hosting an in-car outdoor movie in the Marshall library parking lot on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of the month. Times will change based on the sunset. Due to license requirements, we can't share the titles here. In this 1995 adventure, two children find themselves trapped within a board game. The only way out is to win--if they can survive! It is rated PG and runs for about an hour and 45 minutes. Learn more and see other upcoming car cinema events at https://marshalllyonlibrary.org/events/list/...
To ensure sightlines to the screen, space may be limited. Prime spots are first come, first served! These are in-vehicle events: you will use your car radio to tune in to the audio of the movie. When you arrive, tune your radio to 88.1 FM. In the event of rain, this event may instead be held indoors in the Marshall Library community room at the same time. This event will not be rescheduled.

Dressed in pioneer costumes, they accompany their resonant vocal harmonies on fiddle, guitars, banjo, spoons, harmonica, and celeste (a vintage keyboard that sounds like bells). Join in on the traditional songs that Pa led his family in singing. Imagine yourself with Laura and her family, in front of a cozy fire in their cabin, in the Wisconsin woods, on the Kansas plains, and on the prairies of Minnesota and South Dakota.

Seeking Inspirational Presenters for Youth Conferences
in Art, Writing, and Science
We are excited to reach out to our valued partners in search of individuals who are passionate about inspiring and engaging students in the fields of Art, Writing, and Science. We believe that local expertise and enthusiasm can make a profound impact on our young learners in grades K-8.
Moreover, having the presence of industry representatives at the event would make a strong statement to our future workforce. It would bring awareness to local students about the fabulous opportunities that exist within our region. By showcasing the collaboration between education and industry, we can inspire young minds and demonstrate the incredible career pathways available right here in our community.
Our upcoming conferences provide unique opportunities for students to delve into hands-on learning experiences that can ignite their passion and curiosity:
-
Young Artists Conference: Scheduled for October 25, 2023, at SMSU in Marshall, this event focuses on nurturing creativity and artistic expression. Students will engage in various art forms, honing their skills and exploring their artistic potential.
-
Young Writers Conference: Set for January 4, 2024 (with a snow date on Jan. 5th), at SMSU in Marshall, this conference encourages budding writers to sharpen their literary talents. Participants will gain insights into writing techniques and storytelling, enhancing their writing abilities.
-
Science & Nature Conference: Taking place on May 7, 2024, at SMSU in Marshall, this conference offers a dynamic platform for students to explore the wonders of science and nature. Through interactive experiments and activities, they will deepen their understanding of the natural world.
The primary goal of these conferences is to inspire our young learners, help them discover their strengths, and open doors to future educational and career opportunities. We believe that your knowledge and passion can play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives. For more information, click here.
If you are interested in sharing your expertise and inspiring the next generation of artists, writers, and scientists, or if you know of someone who would be a great fit for this endeavor, please reach out to Andrea Anderson at andrea.anderson@swwc.org or call 507-537-2257. You can also express your interest by visiting our Presenter Search link.
Involvement in these conferences will contribute significantly to the educational journey of our students and help them develop valuable skills and interests. We appreciate your commitment to making a positive impact on our local youth.
Thank you for your consideration, willingness to spread the word, and we look forward to the possibility of working together to empower and inspire our students.
Warm regards,
Eriann Faris, CTE Project Coordinator

Newsletter Goals & Audience
The purpose of the Chamber E-Connection newsletter is to share our member's events with other business and community members. E-Connection events are included based on the requests from the member business. The following criteria are requested by the Marshall Area Chamber for event submissions:
*Event flyers or submissions must be an actual event. We don't include sales or promotions.
*Events can be included in the E-Connection for one week free of charge. You have the option of adding one additional week for $20.
*Submissions to be included must be sent the Wednesday prior to that Friday's E-Connection - they can be emailed to chamber@marshallmn.org.
*All event flyers are for Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce members only.
Did you find any errors? It happens! Although we appreciate notice of a small error in the newsletter, we only send out a corrected e-mail if absolutely necessary.
