COUNSELING TEAM

The GHS Counseling Team is focusing on supporting our 12th graders with their college and financial aid applications. The team is available in the Counseling Corner, room 43, or room 44, to assist students with their applications.

Newcomer Information Night

COMMUNITY SCHOOLS Sara Puma, our school social worker and the school mental health team held a space for students to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos in early November. The Wellness Center opened during lunch, where student learned about the history and meaning of the holiday and decorated small ceramic sugar skulls.

UPCOMING PARENT WORKSHOP

Parents are welcomed to attend one or both of our Workshops on Thursday, December 8th. Our TUPE club will be giving a small presentation to parents on Drug prevention and Awareness from 9am-9:30am. Once they are done with their presentation we will move on to our Holiday Activity Workshop from 9:30am-10:30am.

RESOURCE CENTER PREP FOR FINALS - Make sure to visit the Resource Center to get tutoring support from one of our college tutors. They can help you get ready for those final exams coming up on December 21st & 22nd and complete any class projects or essays that you need to work on.

I highly recommend you check out the testing requirements for the school you are applying to. Cal Poly Pomona’s Project CAMINOS is eager to support students with their transition in pursuing their college dreams. Please see their calendar of virtual workshops for the month of November. Register for the free virtual workshops by clicking on the link provided below.   Lastly as a reminder, seniors from PUSD who apply to Cal Poly Pomona for Fall 2023 will receive an additional special admission consideration during the admission process. Students must participate in 4 Project CAMINOS workshops by December 16th.  and submit a workshop verification form. This can be a combination of workshops Project CAMINOS deliver at your school, at Cal Poly Pomona or through virtual attendance.
