Mid-January 2022
In the Library & Online
|
|
The NWPL remains open and the Childrens Room is busy with new books, a fresh trivia question, and Storytimes!
While we are open regular hours for patrons -- Weekdays 10-6 (Tuesdays until 8!) and Saturdays 10-4 -- curbside pickup and book return are also available in the foyer. Please help us stay healthy so we can stay open by wearing a mask in the library at all times.
We have made a few minor pivots to address the surge in Covid cases. Groups that usually gather at the library are either meeting via Zoom or suspended for the time being – with the exception of Children’s Storytime.
One benefit of going virtual is that Jillian Cantor, a writer based in Arizona, is able to join Melodie Winawer for the author talk on January 18th.
“Cloudmaps,” Paula Cloudpainter’s exhibition in the Mezzanine Gallery, has been extended through February so there is still time to view her inspiring images.
Keep reading, stay warm, and stop by or join us online soon!

Tuesday, January 18 @ 4:00 pm
via Zoom Webinar
Join us to hear Melodie Winawer and Jillian Cantor discuss their latest historical novels.
Melodie Winawer's novel, Anticipation, is a thrilling tale set in Greece, in which a scientist crosses paths with a man out of time.
Beautiful Little Fools by Jillian Cantor portrays the glittering Jazz Age world of The Great Gatsby from the women’s perspective.
“Winawer enthralls with this unique combination of history, romance, and the supernatural…”— PW
“Jillian Cantor’s shifting kaleidoscope of female perspectives makes F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic tale of Jazz Age longing and lust feel utterly modern. A breathtaking accomplishment.”— Fiona Davis, author of The Lions of Fifth Avenue
Melodie Winawer is a physician-scientist and associate professor of neurology at Columbia University and the author of the well-received novel, The Scribe of Siena. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and Ludlow, VT. Jillian Cantor is the author of 11 novels for teens and adults. She was raised in a suburb of Philadelphia and currently lives in Arizona. (MORE INFO)
Yankee Bookshop has a selection of books by Winawer and Cantor - some signed - and will generously donate 20% of sales to NWPL!
