On November 4th, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced a new emergency temporary standard (ETS) to protect more than 84 million workers from the spread of the coronavirus on the job. The ETS establishes binding requirements to protect unvaccinated employees of large employers (those with 100 or more employees) from the risk of contracting COVID-19 in the workplace.
Under this standard, covered employers must develop, implement and enforce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, unless they adopt a policy requiring employees to choose to either be vaccinated or undergo regular COVID-19 testing and wear a face covering at work. CLICK HERE to read more.

Legislative Panel Shows Bipartisan Support for the Construction Industry
|
|
CAM's Annual Legislative Breakfast took place on November 5th. CAM lobbyist Jason Wadaga of Kindsvatter, Dalling & Associates moderated the event, welcoming Sen. Curtis VanderWall (R) of Ludington, Sen. Curtis Hertel, Jr. (D) of East Lansing, Rep. Joseph Bellino (R) of Monroe and Rep. Joe Tate (D) of Detroit to the panel.
Although the group split down party lines on some issues, there was resounding bipartisanship on the issue of how to spend Michigan’s $6 billion in federal American Rescue Plan Act funding — infrastructure. And although negotiations continue, both sides placed confidence in bipartisanship to get construction projects off the ground to support the industry and the people of Michigan. Also discussed at the event were issues related to prompt pay, hero pay, vaccine mandates, and prevailing wage. CLICK HERE for the full recap.
