Main Library expanded hours in 2023

The City of Santa Ana is excited to announce the Main Library will be expanding public service hours beginning January 9, 2023. The Main Library will be open 10 hours each day, Monday through Thursday, adding 8 additional hours every week. The expanded service schedule will provide both morning and evening hours for children, teens and adults of all ages greater flexibility to visit and enjoy their local public library. The Library Services Agency is focused on providing inclusive and equitable access to programs, books, technology and more. The expansion of hours will better meet the needs of the community with additional opportunities for new programs and services.

The Library’s new hours will be:
Main Library
Monday – Thursday | 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday – Saturday | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Newhope Library
Monday & Wednesday | 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesday, Thursday – Saturday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Did you know that an hour of roller skating can burn as many as 600 calories? Moreover, roller skating is making a big comeback with billion-plus views on TikTok’s #rollerskating pages. Starting December 1, patrons can borrow a pair of roller skates free of charge! As part of our Library of Things (LOT) collection, roller skates are available in various sizes and colors for all ages. In addition, you can also check out protective gear such as helmets and elbow and knee pads. All you need is a valid library card, and you will be cruising to your next destination.

Chef and cookbook author, Kate Ramos, joins us for a straight-forward conversation to share her cooking expertise. She will share some of the recipes from her most recent plant-based cookbook, Plant Powered Mexican. Join us for a talk about food, cooking techniques, and the inspiration behind her recipes.
