Massachusetts Chapter

May 2023 Newsletter

Welcome to the first newsletter of the WCA MA!

We are the MA Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art organization. This will be the first of many monthly newsletters featuring WCA MA artists and upcoming events. I am thrilled to be able to introduce you to some of our members, all such talented women who are involved in the arts in one way or another. I am honored that they have chosen me to be their chapter president. My hope is that through this newsletter you will get to know some of these incredible women and their work.

If you are interested in learning more about the WCA and what makes this art organization unique, I encourage you to visit the National WCA website at www.nationalwca.org.

Thank you for subscribing! I hope to see you at one of our future events!

FEATURED ARTIST: Susan Wadsworth

Meet May featured artist and former WCA MA president - Susan Wadsworth.

Susan currently lives in Rindge, NH and is a member of both the MA and NH WCA chapters. She is a modern abstract pastel artist whose work is often inspired by the landscapes of the places she lives and visits. She has a BA in art from Colby College as well as an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and an MA in art history from Tufts. For many years she taught studio art and art history at Fitchburg State University, but she is now enjoying retirement and having more time in her studio. Susan's pastel work has been exhibited throughout New England and New York. She also organized the Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour in the Monadnock Region in 2008, which still continues to this day every Columbus Day weekend. She is represented by Gallery Sitka in Shirley, MA.
