MESSAGE FROM KATIE
This week in worship we will get to hear from one of our favorite folks, Rev. Charles Pope! I know you are as excited as I am to listen to what he has to say. We’ve got a lot going on here at the church and in the community, as we do every fall at First Methodist! Our kids’ ministry just got back safely from a weekend retreat at Camp Wesley Pines. Our students are leaving on October 27th for their own retreat at Timber Creek, and on October 25th we will welcome what is historically at least 550 people at our annual Trunk or Treat. When we get busy, it’s easy to let some spiritual disciplines fall to the wayside. So this week (or month or season), I’d like to encourage you to pick a Psalm and use that as an anchor to the Word of God. If you find yourself in a season of busy-ness, this will help you stay in the Word, soaking in God’s truth. Setting up rhythms like this helps to prevent accidentally getting out of those spiritual disciplines that are so crucial to walking with the Lord. So pick a Psalm, and set aside some time daily to read it. Share with me which one you’ve chosen! I’d love to hear from you.
I’ll see you on Sunday morning, if not before.
In Christ,
Katie

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES
For college students, finals are the most stressful time of the semester. Let's help brighten our college students' days by adopting them this December! Contact Katie today to sign up, and she will assign you a student!
How exactly can you "adopt a student?" Great question! It's pretty simple - drop off little happies, either in the mail or at the church office, for them. And don't worry - Katie will send you some ideas to help get you started!
