Parking Lot Fundraising Campaign
For years Northmont’s parking lot has been deteriorating, with occasional patching keeping it in reasonable shape. At this point, though, it has reached a state of disrepair that can no longer be maintained simply by patching. Facilities Management has spoken with four paving contractors and every one of them has said the parking lot needs to be milled and repaved. Each contractor submitted a bid and as it turned out, the preferred vendor also submitted the least expensive bid. Stewardship & Finance concurred with Facilities Management and together they sent a proposal to resurface the parking lot to the Session. Session approved placing the contract with Tresco.
Session also approved establishing a Parking Lot Capital Fundraising Campaign with a goal of raising $95,000 for the paving project. Ted Mills has agreed to lead this capital campaign, with Jack Swick assisting, and Scott Davis has accepted the role of parking lot project manager.
It appears possible that Tresco may complete the work within the next couple of months and thankfully we have sufficient funds available to cover the cost when completed. This has given us flexibility to set August 31, 2025 as the target end date for the campaign and, as we kick off the funding drive, we are pleased to report commitments totaling $26,600 have already been received! Please consider contributing to this project, in addition to your annual giving. Indicate “Parking Lot Campaign” with your donations so your gifts can be properly accounted. Funds collected exceeding our goal will be credited to the Major Repairs & Maintenance Fund.
One hundred years ago our Presbyterian forebearers started a church in Ross Township. Subsequent generations have invested in and improved this facility. We are the inheritors of all their efforts and now it is our responsibility to maintain or improve this facility for ourselves and future generations. Our parking lot is an essential element of Northmont’s infrastructure. It is outward facing to the public and contributes to the welcoming and safe environment we project.
As stewards of Northmont, please give prayerful consideration to this request.
