From 2020 to 2021 there were some significant changes in demographics that will likely impact independent schools for years to come. In particular, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco collectively lost approximately 700,000 people in one year while Austin, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Phoenix gained 300,000 residents.
