COMMUNITY CALENDAR

Sunapee Happenings

Celestial Happenings. There are few greater celestial sights in the starry sky than a beautiful full moon. Tonight, a rare second full August moon, called a “Blue Moon” will be rising over New Hampshire mountains and lakes. The other rare happening is that Saturn will be quite close to the earth, illuminated by the moon and enabling us to see without a telescope!  (Just for fun, check out the many ancient & urban legends about such full moon risings on Google.)

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS

A “Double-Header” feature! "Mario Bros" and second night sighting of a Blue Moon over Sunapee Harbor!

TOMATO TIME

Thanks to Kate Donald for sharing photo.

June rains have wrecked havoc with this summer’s growing season. To quote the organic farmer at Stout Oak Farm in Brentwood, “ we’ve been waiting and waiting, even encouraging them by whispering sweet nothings in their little tomato ears and wondering if they would ever ripen!”

Check out Ina Garten’s quick & easy, ever so delicious recipe for Roasted Cherry Tomatoes.
