 Royals Communication

CEC Early College Newsletter

October 13, 2023

Greetings Royal Families!

As autumn sets in, we hope that you and your family are snuggled up and enjoying the crisp air this fall season. Our school year has kicked off to a fantastic start, with both teachers and students diving headfirst into their classroom adventures, exploring and "Doing Something Real".

We've already had a great start to the year with our Back to School Night, the CEC Car Show, Spirit Week, and Homecoming. Now, we're excitedly preparing for Family Conferences on October 16th (12 PM to 7 PM), where we'll discuss your child's college and career goals. Don't forget to mark your calendars for our second annual Truck-or-Treat happening on October 26th from 5 PM to 6:30 PM in the CEC parking lot.

As we move further into the semester, we would love to hear from you! What's going well for your family and student? How can we make CEC even better? Please feel free to reach out at; roland_shaw@dpsk12.net, on my direct line, 720-423-6702, or call the school to schedule a meeting.

With Gratitude,

Roland

Parent Teacher Conferences

As a reminder, there’s no school on Monday, so that we can host our Family-Teacher Conferences.

Monday, October 16 - Conferences are for all full-time and part-time students. Conferences are on a walk-in basis from 12:00 pm-7:00 pm, you don’t need an appointment to attend.

This is an important time to hear about your students' academic progress and success and learn from them about the areas that they want to grow or need support. Our conferences are student-led. Students should bring their chromebooks fully charged with them to their conference.

Can't wait to see you on October 16!

Help us provide the best support for your child

CEC Early College is participating in Denver Public School’s initiative to have parents/guardians complete a social and emotional survey that will help us provide appropriate interventions in schools.

This survey requires your child's student ID number, date of birth, and will only takes 5 minutes to complete. The deadline to complete the survey is October 20th.

You can access the link here or scan the following QR code. Assessing the behavioral and emotional functioning of children and adolescents can be an effective tool in promoting student success.

Thank you for participation.
